You, your dreams, and your musician career...Ok, so you need to give your musician career a little boost!!! What musician doesn't??? These days, with the possibilities the internet gives us, we musicians have a real shot at success as entrepreneurs, IF we do things right. This also means we have to become versatile and cover quite a wide range of skills. This might seem like a pain in the neck: "I've already spent all these years working hard to learn music: and now I also have to take the time to learn business?". Yes, and not business the traditional way. The internet has changed business and the music industry forever. So only the learners, those who stay abreast will be able to swim the ever-changing tides of todays music business. To become a successful independent musician, you will need to be a musician / sound engineer / producer / publicist / manager / (fill in the blank)... You'll need your own custom made mix of skills, abilities, and knowledge in order to succeed at being , well, YOU!!! Luckily, there is no need to know everything about everything. We simply need to cover certain critical aspects about each of these points to get us rolling... and then keep learning as we go!!! It's like a avalanche rolling down-hill: ever bigger, ever stronger. Todays tools and music technology make most of these processes far easier than they have ever been. Before we get into all that hassle: One very simple thing you can do now is to intelligently search the internet to find musician jobs, gigs and so on, to give your career a little boost. If you're not internet-savvy, and even if you are, you'll be glad to know that I've created a nifty little search tool for you. This will allow you to instantly search the most relevant music industry jobs sites across the web. There are other interesting search functions embedded into the toolbar. You can read more about it HERE. OK. Something definitely more time consuming than performing a search, but infinitely more rewarding, in every way, is to establish your web presence. I'm sure you know that. Most musicians these days consider establihing their web-presence in one way or another as a crucial step in their musician career building strategy. You probably have a MySpace profile or something similar... but that does not come close to having your own website when it comes to business, especially if you are serious about your musician career. Building a website that works can be hard without the right tools. And most who attempt it fail for that very reason. As with the process of producing music, todays tools and tech can make this possible for you and me -without being geeks!!! Today, you can turn your knowledge and passion into a profitable website that will leverage your musician career in ways you haven't even dreamed of. Do you want to find out how I did it?
