Warren Nunes The Jazz Guitar Chord Bible -Complete Review

Warren Nunes has compiled a huge collection of chords in the two volumes of The Jazz Guitar Chord Bible -Complete. As with all guitar chord bibles, the book makes no attempt at explaining the underlying harmonic relationships. Nothing about why the chords are used the way they are used. It -as all other guitar chord bibles- focuses exclusively on resulting surface patterns, rather than underlying relationships. This will make the book boring to any but the most inclined to follow recipes. If you are not such a type, you might find this to be a complete waste of time and money. Using such books, one would quickly reach the conclusion that notes on the guitar fretboard are laid out in a completely illogical way, and that the only way to learn anything on it is by rote. Before studying chords, it is a good idea to have a good general understanding of note layout on the fretboard.
